I have always been a huge fan of great words of wisdom and famous quotes.I love to share them with friends in hopes that they continue reading
Welcome to my corner of the world! I’m so glad that you took a few minutes to drop by. I created this website to share thoughts about life, faith, and lessons that I have learned, and to hopefully help someone along the way. I chose to name this site ” Pressing Toward The Mark” for a couple reasons. My name is Mark, so that obviously had something to do with it. Additionally, and more importantly….I chose the title because of what the Apostle Paul said in the Bible in Philippians 3:13-14. In this passage Paul said, ” Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” That describes my attitude. I try not to worry about past mistakes that I cannot undo. What is in the past is in the past. I have not achieved perfection, nor do I expect that I ever will in this lifetime; but I press toward the mark, and strive to be the very best that I can be.
I decided long ago that I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of people I come in contact with during this short journey we call life. When we die, we will all have a grave marker with our name on it, two dates, and a dash. The first date will represent when we were born, the second date will represent when we died, but more importantly the little dash in the middle will represent the amount of time we spent on the earth in between. I want to fill my “dash” with happiness, love, and time spent being encouraged and bringing encouragement to others. It is for that reason that I created this website. My hope and prayer is that something that you read on here will encourage and inspire you to continue to always strive for higher heights and never give up on your dreams. As Walt Disney once said, ” If you can dream it, you can achieve it.”
